Got some durians to satisfy your cravings but they aren’t quite ripe enough to eat on their own? No problem. Let’s turn them into something delicious-desserts, of course!
First up, say hello to Durian Chiffon Cake. If you're a fan of that bold, unmistakable durian flavor, this cake is calling your name. It's light, airy, and oh-so-soft, with the perfect balance of sweet and creamy. We’ve taken the classic chiffon cake-made with egg yolks, oil, and whipped egg whites-and given it a durian twist. The result? A fluffy, custardy treat that durian lovers will adore.
Next, let’s talk about Pengat Durian. You’ve probably tried it before, but Khalil’s version takes it up a notch by turning it into a pudding! This traditional Southeast Asian dessert, popular in Malaysia and Indonesia, is rich and creamy, made by cooking durian flesh in coconut milk, sugar, and sometimes pandan leaves for that extra fragrance. But Khalil adds a twist with sago, giving it a smooth, slightly firm texture, similar to panna cotta. It’s a new spin on an old favorite, and trust us, you’re going to love it.

Ingredients for Durian Chiffon Cake:
Mixing Bowl A:
60ml Fresh milk
40 ml Vegetable oil
80g Caster sugar
3 Egg yolks
100g Durian puree
120g Cake flour, shifted
¼ tsp Salt
Mixing Bowl B:
6 Egg whites
1/4 tsp Cream of tartar
Ingredients for Durian Pengat:
60ml Fresh/Coconut milk, adjust mix accordingly
4 pandan leaves
Leftover durian seeds
80g Gula Melaka Syrup
100g Tapioca Sago (Rinsed & Drained)
175g durian pulp
